Meeting was called to order by Donna Ryder. Welcome new members. Tanya Tedford, joined last month. Marsha Wolak was presented with a gift as exiting director - Red Diva Angel plate w/stand. Diva Appreciation Award - Marsha Wolak - Diva Angel of the Year 2005 Birthdays announced, and cake served. Guest Speaker: Jerry Harvey spoke on Ride for Kids, one charity nominated as recipient for monies from Poker Run. This charity funds research for Pediatric Brain Tumors and is solely sponsored by motorcycle groups. Our very own ANGEL John Henry Willbanks, has once again donated $100 to be earmarked for the Ride for Kids fund. Treasurer's Report: Tina Johnston Diva Angel Scrapbook: As I was unable to talk Tuesday night, I'll elaborate a little more now. Please send pictures, articles, etc. to Tina Johnston (3115 Vesper Ave., Sarasota, FL 34232) or bring them to our monthly meetings. I will begin putting together a scrapbook of all Diva activities. This will be a great asset, not only for our own benefit, but also at events where we will have our table set up...letting others know who and what we are and how much fun we have! Directors Report - Donna Ryder Emails: Donna has had difficulty with some email addresses no longer being accessible. Poker Run Committee members will be eligible to win one of a select few remaining tickets available. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Names will be put in a hat and drawn at our next meeting. The Second Annual Diva Angel Poker Run has been scheduled for October 15, 2006. Diva Image: Donna wanted to remind us that when we are out in public (especially wearing Diva Angel wear) that we conduct ourselves accordingly. Respect one another and our organization as professionals. Board Members Reports: Esther Halt - Activities Director (absent): A list of upcoming rides/events was presented. Not mentioned on list: Tampa Bike Fest at the Sundome in Tampa visit www.bestbikeshows.com for details. Donna DuBord - Fund Raising: Reported that we now have a large check (for our charity presentations) that has been donated and will be ready for presentation at our next meeting. Also Donna has received $3,800 in donations already! To be used for our Poker Run. Teresa Rivas - Assistant Director: Reported that we now have a "Diva Angel" tent to use at our events, which will have our logo embellished on it, donated by B&C Loss Consultants. Power -of-One gift certificate went to Nidia Otero for bring a guest, Cherri, who joined as a new member. Patti Sperling - Road Captain: Presented our monthly safety report in the form of "Road Rules" with several worthy tips for all. Also mentioned a safe alternative to flares as a signaling device on your motorcycle. Battery operated plastic signal wand with a magnetic base, available at WalMart for approx. $10. Sandy Brandt - National Treasure: Membership... we currently have 74 members on our Gulf Coast chapter's roster. However 20 members have not paid their renewal dues ($15 - national, $15 - local). These dues need to be paid by the end of February. You can renew your membership online at www.divaangels.org NEW BUSINESS Donna Ryder, Director- presented a motion regarding our monthly Birthday celebrations. A vote was presented to the members: Birthday Cake Vs. Birthday Rides Monthly Birthday Rides were voted in with the concession that a regular "date" was selected for each month. The first Tuesday of each month is now set for our Monthly Birthday Dinner Rides (beginning in April). New Meeting Location: A vote was taken for our meetings to remain at Steak & Ale, until such time as our attending numbers exceed the available space.
