Minutes of the Gulf Coast Diva Angels
Steak and Ale Restaurant
Tuesday, April 18, 2006
- Meeting was called to order by Donna Ryder.
- 26 in attendance
- New Member Nancy Taylor attended and told us her story. Been riding since age 14!
- Esther Halt brought guest Jodi Bryan Tanya Tevford brought guest Cynthia Trimarco, both guests were welcomed and introduced.
- The names of Divas with birthdays was read, as well as the Mission statement, explanation of membership costs and notice of the next board meeting April 26th at Steak & Ale 6:30 p.m., Diva Donna Ryder
- Marsha spoke about the huge check presentation event for Samantha's Friends. The DIVAS that attended met the recipient of the service dog. There were two greta articles in the newspapers about the event at th counrty club.
- Marsha also spoke about the charity event we will sponsor for our annual poker run to benefit Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Her goals for all Diva chapters is $10,000.
- Teresa presented Jodi with the power of one gift certificate.
- Lynne asked those present to review the roster of personal information sent around the room and update phone #'s etc. as needed.
- Lynne gave us the Chapter Pin update, showed us the finished design and the vote was to order 100 pins to start, as motioned by Esther & 2nd'd by Patti.
- In Tina's absence, Sandy gave the treasurer's report. Bottom line, we have $2,106.99
- Esther reviewed recent rides, presented upcoming rides and a decision was made that when a ride states a specific time, that is when KSU will be (kick stands up) so don't be late. She will email uppdates to us as well. The Bok Tower ride was not on her handout; that ride is May 20, more details to follow by email.
- Donna Dubord was absent, no update on fundraising and no 50/50 drawing tonight.
- Patti handed out & presented "When do accidents occur" & the "I'M SAFE" method of avoiding them. She told her "accident" story.
- Teresa Rivas volunteered to chair the Poker Run committee & Rita will co-chair. We need more than 30 volunteers. Tonight the following volunteered to be on the committee: Donna R., Donna D., Patti S., Sandy B., Verna B., Marsha W.,Lynne E., Nancy Taylor, Holly, Donna G, Susan B., Susan G., Sharyn Mc., Tanya T., Robin, Poker run is set for October 15th.
- Marsha volunteered her house for the first Poker run committee meeting scheduled for Thursday May 11, 2006 from 6 to 8 pm . Email of directions to follow. Donna DeFant discussed what she needed to do the press releases for the event. Will have a volunteer list at the next meeting as well as sponsor & donation letters.
- Gentleman in bar area - Ray West donated $5.00 to us.
- Holly showed us new DIVA Angels tops that are in, red, black & pink tanks & spaghetti strap tops in black. Lynne found a sequin top maker; will get their name to Holly.
- Donna R. announced that Hap's Gulf Coast Rider's Board donated $150 to our chapter.
- Patti made motion to adjourn , second by Esther. 7:30 p.m.
