Minutes of the Gulf Coast Diva Angels

Good news sharing: Rita McClain is moving in with fiancé. Wedding plans April 18th 2009. Marsha Wolak 1 year anniversary on Easter with Fred.
Update on Laurie Blackwell: Sarah indicated Laurie is OK and she is happy for that. Hat was passed around for Lori. Sarah’s second book is out in April. She is now a paid author!
Interviewing at next meeting charitable organizations for 2008 fundraising proceeds. We will be having one major and several minor recipients.
The following charities were suggested for presentations next month:
Mr. Bill Dargono-Special Olympics-Manatee County, Lynn Rasys- Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Second Chance-Last Opportunity
Donna DeFant will call Rick Deal, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
A motion was made not to forget past charities we have supported. Donna DeFant
seconded the motion. Passed.
The Annual Ride For Kids was brought up and suggested we support and ride in the event as it is a wonderful charity ride. Tanya volunteered to take over as activities director in Laurie’s absence. Everyone greatly appreciated her offer!
Next meeting is Tuesday, April 15th same time and place: 6:30 Social-7 Meeting.
Donna DeFant will prepare and distribute a press release.
Sharyn suggested a Fallen Angel Ride to help Laurie Blackwell with bills. Decided on April 20th for a benefit ride. It will start at Peggy’s. Discussion regarding the final stop and party. Location to be determined.
Three bikers have been down recently in Tampa. Please be careful!
Treasurer report: $2,025.52 Balance forward. Ending balance: $2,070.52
No other reports from officers.
Ron, owner of the bike shop next door, donated 6 T-shirts for Laurie’s event!!!
Daytona update: Horrible! Rained and not very many people this year.
Member guidelines are available for all members as are the bylaws. Please sign and
return a copy of the guidelines.
Patti Sperling-Safety Director gave a great talk on markers on tire to indicate wear. Look for the diamonds! Great job Patti!
Sharyn went to the Meeting of the Minds biker club meeting in Feb. Thought it was great!
Donna DeFont had a great article in the Longboat Observer. Congrats Donna!
Tanya let everyone know about an upcoming Humane Society ride.
