  • Amanda Schurr the Events Editor & Arts Writer for Creative Loafing Newpaper was our guest and stayed for the entire meeting as we all introduced ourselves and backgrounds to her. Her article will appear the week of July 25, 2008.
    Divas in attendance were: Candy Roberts, Lori Blackwell, Sarah Hammock, Sandy
    Brandt, Susan Goslin, Marsha Wolak, Sharon McCormick, Donna DeFant, Tanya
    Tedford, Cynthia Trimarco.
  • Cynthia showed us the Diva Angels jewelry she is making and donating the profits
    towards Lynn Eilerman’s Breast Cancer Walk, Susan G. Komen fund raiser in October. A few pieces were sold tonight. Call Cynthia to order yours.
  • Good news sharing:
    • Sandy drove here from N.C. in 12 hours a couple of weeks ago &
      goes back home tomorrow.
    • Candy completed her “GREEN” salon with green
      environmentally correct products, etc.
    • The next Gator Pervis book that Sarah wrote comes out July 2nd.
    • Donna DeFant has been asked to join the National Board of Directors as the Membership Coordinator and accepted.
    • Lori thanked us for all the groceries her son was able to purchase & all the money we raised for her Benefit Ride when she was in a car accident. It is so good to see her walk tonight.
    • Lori shared accident information & Donna shared her motorcycle accident information from the return home from the Biker4Boobs poker run to make us all aware of safer motorcycling news.
    • Sharon shared her experience watching Donna in the accident.
  • Candy: Treasurer’s report we have $2,150.52 and Cynthia still owes her $30 for t-shirts.
  • Activities:
    • Our next one is the Grand Prix Souvenir Motorcycle Ride on July 5th.
      www.suncoastsoffshore.org. Cynthia will have a DIVA table at registration & will need other Divas to help man it with her from about 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. during registration of the Motorcycle Grand Prix Souvenir Ride.
    • Then we start our promotion rides for our charity event in October. June 21st meet at the Village Inn on US 41, Sarasota - 8 a.m. breakfast, KSU 9 a.m.; then July 26th meet at the Gathering Place, corner of Gulf Dr & 7th St. N. across from the Beach. Head west on Cortez, at end turn right – it is right there on the right. - 8 a.m. breakfast KSU 9 a.m.;
      The next 2 promotions rides will be 8/23/08 & 9/20/08, Places TBA.
  • Susan Goslin accepted the minutes of the last meeting, Tanya 2nd.
  • Cynthia will so some special orders for DIVA clothing, showed what was available.
  • Candy suggested we do individual Christmas hand painted ornaments that went over well at another fund raiser, or a Diva cookbook, Tanya suggested sparkly doo-rags, Sarah suggested a Diva calendar, Lori suggested boot chains to sell to raise $ for the charities. No decisions were made at this time.
  • Budweiser asked if we would run the poker run for their 3 day rally in October but it is the weekend right after our big event & we would only get 20% of the take for our charity. We decided against this.
  • We need to prepare a certificate of appreciation for the Eagles
    Club for allowing us to use their facility for Lori’s Benefit Ride.
  • We also need to check the Eagles availability to have our charity run end there on 10-5-08.
  • We have decided to table the sunrise ride at this time.
  • Cynthia is working on arranging a baby shower date with First Step.
  • The meeting was adjourned about 8:30 p.m.
