At the February monthly meeting the Gulf Coast Diva Angels interviewed charities and decided to hold a huge garage and bake sale on Saturday, March 20 at 5225 Summerwood Court, Sarasota, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the proceeds to benefit Mother Helping Mothers, Inc. 2239 North Washington Blvd., of Sarasota http://www.whatshappeningmanatee.com/MothersHelpingMothers.html.
They further voted to have the proceeds of their annual Poker Run in October benefit the Dream Oaks Camp http://www.foundationfordreams.org/ .

The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Diva Angels will hold their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Social hour at 6:00 pm and meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Fast N Fresh , 8105 Cooper Creek Blvd., University Park, FL. 34201 in The Shoppes at University Center on the east side of the mall. 941-462-2650.
Diva Angels, Inc. is a non-profit organization of female motorcycle enthusiasts that enjoy riding together, camaraderie, doing good in the community and building strong friendships all along the way. All makes and models of bikes along with all shapes, sizes and ages of women are welcome!
Since January 2005 the Diva Angels has grown as a National Women’s Biker Organization with five active chapters already. There may a Diva Angels club in your backyard. To find out log on the national website: www.divaangels.org and see all the chapters there are or how to start one in your area.
Diva Angels members and guests are always welcome to come to all meetings and all events. The Gulfcoast Diva Angels 2010 meeting schedule: Feb. 16th, Mar 16th, Apr 20th, May 18th, June 15th, July 20th, Aug 17th, Sept. 21st, Oct 19th & Nov 16th.
Also at the last meeting of 2009 they presented Southeastern Guide Dogs with a check for $5,402. This money was raised during their 2009 - 5th Annual Poker Run and was enough money to go toward the breeding, raising and naming a female guide dog puppy. The Divas chose the name “DIVA” for the puppy they have sponsored. They will also have a brick placed in the sidewalk at the charity located in Palmetto, FL. with the name “Gulf Coast Diva Angels” etched in it.

Diva Angels Ride to Solomon's Castle
4th Annual Charity Ride
Over 100 bikes participated in the 4th Annual Charity Ride held on Sunday, October 5th with 100% of monies raised going to six worthwhile charities:
Special Olympics, Susan G. Komen, Second Chance/Last Opportunity, SMART, Samantha’s Friends, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The 60 mile ride from Peggy’s to Hoosier’s was enjoyed by all!!!! Even the weather cooperated and waited until the event was over to rain! Thanks to all riders who came out and supported the event along with all of the sponsors who donated so generously even during this slow economy. Your donations and support make a difference in people’s lives and is greatly appreciated by all!!

4th Annual First Step Baby Shower

| The 4th Annual First Step Baby shower for the New Mother and Infant Program was held on Thursday, August 28th. Diva Cynthia Trimarco did an amazing job of coordinating the event. Each new mother received a diaper bag filled with custom baby items and each enjoyed the games including “guess the poopy diaper”!!! -more- |

In honor of Sandy Brandt’s visit to Sarasota from North Carolina, a group of Gulf Coast Diva Angels had a lunch ride to Old Salty Dog. It was a beautiful day and a great ride from Sarasota, to Salty Dog and down Longboat Key into Bradenton.

The Diva Angels were presented with this award from S.M.A.R.T. at the last meeting of the Gulf Coast Chapter. S.M.A.R.T. said it was their horse & the Diva Angel’s wings!
The plaque reads:
